On Tuesday, May 28, the Dave Matthews Band has asked concert-goers to donate non-perishable food items to Daily Bread Food Bank. Daily Bread volunteers will be at the gates of the Molson Amphitheatre to collect food and fund donations before the concert.
Once inside the concert, fans will also have an opportunity to purchase a custom Dave Matthews Band seed packet for $5. Those funds will be used to purchase fresh produce from a local farmer that will also be donated to Daily Bread to help provide nutritious food to those in need.
The Dave Matthews Band is touring across the country, and as part of the Bama Green Project, in partnership with REVERB, are promoting the awareness of issues around sustainability and food. Looking for more information or tickets? Check out the Dave Matthews Band website.

The GTAA Spring Hope Food Drive is tomorrow night! Apartments from across Toronto will be participating in Canada’s largest door-to-door food drive. If your building is participating, you’ll probably have already seen posters up in your apartment lobby. Volunteers (and neighbours) will be going door-to-door tomorrow night collecting food donations for Daily Bread Food Bank. Won’t be home? That’s okay! Leave your donations out by your door on your way out Tuesday and volunteers will collect them. Our most-needed food items include canned fruits and vegetables, baby food and formula, rice, pasta, canned/dried beans as well as canned meat/tuna, powdered or tetra pak cartons of milk, pasta sauce and soup.

Holiday Drive Public Food Sorts
Almost six hundred volunteers on December 26 and 27 will be sorting and packing food donations from the Holiday Drive at Daily Bread Food Bank.
With only 500,000 pounds of food donated so far, Daily Bread is looking to raise 500,000 pounds more or an additional $200,000 to purchase food and reach the Holiday Drive goal of a million pounds. Daily Bread’s original financial goal was $1.5 million, but is now $1.7 million if food donations continue to be low. Donations during the Holiday Drive will help keep Daily Bread shelves stocked and food going out to those who need it for the next few winter months.
Note: Daily Bread is fully booked for public sorting. No volunteers are required.
