Planning to register for the Thanksgiving Drive Public Food Sorts? Here are a few reminders!

Where: Daily Bread’s warehouse is located at 191 New Toronto Street, Toronto ON  M8V 2E7. There is limited parking available. We are accessible by TTC (110 Islington South bus from Islington subway station; please check www.ttc.ca for schedules and more information).

Sign-In: Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your shift start time to sign in.

Age Limit: Please remember that no children under the age of 8 are allowed in the warehouse. We are a working warehouse with forklifts and trucks and it is not safe for children under that age. Children and teenagers between the ages of 8 and 17 must have a waiver form (download it from here) signed by a parent or guardian. Please fill in, print, then sign, and hand it in to us when you check in for each of your shifts. Volunteers aged 8 to 14 must also be accompanied by an adult who will volunteer with them for the duration of the shift.

Confirmation Letters: To request a student letter confirming volunteer hours, make sure to notify staff before proceeding to the food sorting area. The letter will be ready for pickup by the end of your shift.

How to dress: Please don’t forget to wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and absolutely no open-toed shoes or high heels. No sandals, no peep toes… no matter how warm it is outside, we have lots of things in the warehouse that can accidentally run over unsuspecting toes. Please pass this message on to all parties in your group!

Media: Media may be onsite filming and taking photographs during this event. While consent to the use of an adult volunteer’s image is implied, if your group includes minors, consent to the use of their image will be requested verbally at sign-in.

Donations: We encourage all volunteers to bring in donations of funds or food if possible. Your efforts are essential to Daily Bread Food Bank’s mission to fight hunger in our communities.

Thank you for joining the fight against hunger.
