Media Advisory – Thanksgiving Public Food Sorts

This weekend, Daily Bread will open its warehouse doors to over 600 volunteers, and even some Olympians, this Thanksgiving Weekend. Volunteers will be sorting through food donations on Saturday and Monday. We are fully booked for volunteers, and we look forward to seeing everyone who has registered!

The Thanksgiving Drive ends on October 14 and Daily Bread is hoping to raise $400,000 and 400,000 pounds of food. So far, $215,000 and 118,000 pounds of food has been raised.

WHEN: Saturday, October 6, 2012
10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Monday, October 8, 2012
10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

 On Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., London 2012 Olympians will be

volunteering, including:

  • Robyn Gayle, 2012 Olympic bronze medallist, Soccer
  • Jason Burnett, 2012 Olympian, 2008 Olympic silver medallist, Trampoline
  • Alisha Tatham, 2012 Olympian, Basketball
  • David Wright, 2012 Olympian, Sailing
  • Alexandra Landry, 2012 Olympian, Gymnastics
  • Anastasiya Muntyanu, 2012 Olympian, Gymnastics
  • Katrina Cameron, 2012 Olympian Gymnastics
