Watch Daily Bread Food Bank’s innovative and inspiring Volunteer Action Committee in action!
Daily Bread Food Bank’s Volunteer Action Committee (VAC) is an innovative program operating out of Daily Bread’s onsite food bank at the New Toronto Street location. In this program, volunteers – many of whom are clients of the food bank – are responsible for its day-to-day operation as well as providing information and referral services for people in need.
Our goal is to have the food bank become a place of community-building, where clients receive more than just access to food: they are also able to participate more fully, to build skills, confidence, friendship and community while giving back and applying their own knowledge, expertise and passion.
Daily Bread Food Bank gratefully acknowledges the support of the Vital Ideas grant provided by the Tony and Caley Taylor Family Fund, the Jocelyn Barford Family Foundation and the Vital Toronto Fund at the Toronto Foundation.
