Chef Donna Dooher is looking forward to competing at Daily Bread’s Ultimate Food Challenge. An accomplished chef, author and owner of Mildred’s Temple Kitchen, Donna has a passion for bringing people to the table. Her favourite part about being a chef? Seeing the delight of people enjoying the dishes she prepares. Having known someone who has needed a food bank, being a part of this event means even more to her since proceeds will go to food programs for low income children and families.
“As a cook, I see so much food coming back on guests plate,” says Chef Donna. “And I often think of those who have none. It saddens me to think that in a city like Toronto, in a country such as Canada, we have children who wake up hungry and go to school hungry.”
On May 7, she will be competing against Cibo Wine Bar’s Saverio Macri and Gusto 101’s Daniel Mezzolo to win the Ultimate Food Challenge crown. Using common food bank hamper ingredients, the chefs will have half an hour to create a tempting, delicious appetizer for judges Michael Bonacini, Massimo Capra and Emily Richards to taste. Guests will also have a chance to try the chef’s competition dish and vote for their favourite as well.
Join Chef Donna Dooher at Daily Bread’s Ultimate Food Challenge! Tickets are $150 and include drinks, an espresso and dessert bar, appetizers from Daily Bread’s Catering Kitchen as well as chef’s signature dishes and their competition dish. Buy tickets or find out more!
