Holiday giving takes flight at Billy Bishop Airport

Once again Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport joined forces with Daily Bread Food Bank to help ensure everyone in the city has access to nutritious food.

On November 28, we were honoured to welcome staff from Nieuport Aviation and Ports Toronto to Daily Bread, where the team helped sort over 3,000 lbs of oatmeal that would be delivered to our network of member agencies across Toronto.

In addition to rolling up their sleeves to volunteer, they also announced an incredible donation of $25,000 to help launch our holiday campaign!

If you’re travelling through Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport throughout the remainder of November and December, keep an eye out for digital signage featuring a QR code where you can donate directly to Daily Bread Food Bank to help make sure no one goes hungry this holiday season.

“Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is about connection—not only for travelers and businesses, but also for our neighbours,” says Jennifer Quinn, CEO of Nieuport Aviation. “The need for support is especially great this time of year, and we invite visitors to the airport to join us in donating by scanning the QR code on digital signage found throughout the airport.”

Since first partnering with Daily Bread in 2023, Billy Bishop Airport’s support has resulted in 67,300 meals distributed to individuals and families in need. At a time when more than 1 in 10 Torontonians are turning to food banks to make ends meet, we’re so grateful for their partnership in providing meals for neighbours experiencing food insecurity.

The holiday season can be a challenging time for many. You can make a tangible difference in the lives of neighbours facing food insecurity by donating to Daily Bread’s essential food programs here.
