Once again, our community showed up in powerful ways to support neighbours facing hunger during the holiday season. Throughout November and December, businesses, organizations, and individuals found creative ways to give back, turning festive moments into meaningful impact.
As we begin a new year, we’re taking a moment to look back and highlight some of the initiatives that helped make the holiday season brighter for thousands of Torontonians relying on food banks to make ends meet.
Great Lakes Brewery kickstarted their annual 17th annual Hops for Hunger campaign with a bustling holiday market filled with local vendors, seasonal treats, and fresh-cut Christmas tree. Visitors were also invited to bring non-perishable food items for their annual Daily Bread food drive, which ran throughout December.
For every can of their exclusive White Eggnog Stout and Hazy Pale Ale sold, GLB donated $1 directly to Daily Bread.
Sometimes it’s the simplest gestures that make the biggest difference. Delta Bingo & Gaming spread holiday cheer by offering gift-wrapping services in support of Daily Bread. As shoppers prepared their presents, they also helped provide critical food support for neighbours in need, turning a seasonal task into an act of generosity.
For the second year in a row, the spinning community rallied together in this unique, high-energy event: For 24 hours non-stop, instructors, special guests, and riders kept one bike in constant motion to raise awareness on food insecurity and critical funds for Daily Bread. Supporters joined in by donating online, securing a spot in a class, or cheering the team on through the livestream.
The second annual Rock the Halls concert in support of Daily Bread took place at the legendary El Mocambo on December 20, 2025. This one-night-only event featured performances from global pop star Priyanka, alongside alumni of the Canada’s Walk of Fame RBC Emerging Musician Program, including YASSiN & Sean Terrio, Annabel Oreste, Jennarie, and Maya Malkin.
Besides enjoying live music, guests also took part in a silent auction, holiday photo activation, and food drive on-site. All proceeds from ticket sales and the auction went toward helping families in need.
We are deeply grateful to every organization, volunteer, and supporter who helped make community initiatives like these possible. Your generosity during the holiday season helps ensure that more Torontonians can access the food they need, not just during the holidays, but all year round.
