We’re proud to share that Nikki McAlister, Client Programs Manager at New Toronto Street Food Bank, has received the Bridge Builder Award at Feed Ontario’s annual conference on Monday, June 9.
Presented as part of the Feed Ontario Leadership Awards, this honour recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership, foster collaboration, and champion equity within their organizations and communities. Nikki was recognized for her thoughtful, client-centred leadership and her dedication to building meaningful connections—both inside the food bank and across the community.
A driving force behind expanding New Toronto Street Food Bank’s services from three days a week to seven, Nikki helped ensure vital access to food for community members when they need it most. Her commitment to responsive programming and inclusive service delivery continues to strengthen the food bank’s reach and impact.
Nikki leads with compassion and integrity, approaching her work with a steady determination to improve the lives of those she serves. “My goal is to make changes quietly yet persistently wherever I can to better the lives of the people we serve,” she says. This award is a powerful testament to that unwavering dedication.
