Give back through the Purolator Red Bag campaign

On Saturday, September 19, a legion of volunteers will blanket multiple Toronto neighbourhoods with 20,000 empty red bags, ready to be filled with food for people experiencing hunger this Thanksgiving season.

This is the eighth annual Purolator Red Bag Campaign in support of Daily Bread Food Bank, and part of Purolator’s nationwide Tackle Hunger program.

Here’s how the campaign works:

  • If you live in East York, Broadview North, Leaside North, Leaside South, Mount Pleasant East, Corso Italia, South Etobicoke, Runnymede or the Kingsway, look out for our amazing volunteers dropping off Purolator Red Bags by your door on Saturday, September 19
  • If you receive a bag, please fill it up with some of our most needed non-perishable items: canned fish/fruits/veggies/tomatoes, oatmeal and nut butters
  • If you miss our pickup deadline, you can drop off your bag with non-perishable food items at your nearest fire hall

Our deepest thanks to Purolator for their longstanding commitment to the fight against hunger, and to our wonderful volunteers for dedicating their time and efforts to making this campaign a success.

With your help, we’ll be able to fill our warehouse and ensure that everyone has access to the food they need this Thanksgiving.
