Looking for a meaningful way to complete your volunteer hours this summer? Daily Bread Food Bank is welcoming student volunteers to help ensure neighbours across Toronto can access the food they need.
Every hour you give helps get food to neighbours who need it most. With more than one in 10 Torontonians now relying on food banks, volunteers play a vital role in helping Daily Bread respond to record levels of need. By sorting, packing and distributing food, student volunteers help ensure thousands of people across the city can access fresh, nutritious food with dignity.
Students aged 15 + can volunteer in the food sorting area, while volunteers aged 18+ can also volunteer in the warehouse, food bank or kitchen. Shifts are flexible, with morning and afternoon options available, making it easier to fit volunteering around summer jobs and other summer activities. Bring friends or meet new ones!
For students completing community service hours, Daily Bread provides confirmation of hours volunteered letters and can sign school-provided tracking sheets. Like all individual volunteers, students also receive a complimentary lunch, and those who complete 50 hours will receive a Daily Bread volunteer T-shirt.
These opportunities take place at Daily Bread’s headquarters at 191 New Toronto Street in South Etobicoke. No prior experience is required, and training and orientation are provided before your shift.
Register today to gain required community services hours, build new skills and help support those affected by food insecurity in your community.
