The Impact of Coronavirus on Food Bank Clients

March 6, 2020

Last week, federal Health Minister Patty Hadju suggested people prepare for a Coronavirus outbreak by setting aside a week’s worth of food and medicine. But with food bank use on the rise and the average client having just $7.83 per day left after housing and other necessities, for many, this is simply not an option. In addition, “stockpiling” could mean that there isn’t enough food and supplies for those in need.

Daily Bread CEO, Neil Hetherington was on CBC The National earlier this week, discussing the impact of COVID-19 on food banks and the clients we serve.
