CBC Sounds of the Season Open House

Join us on site for the first full CBC Sounds of the Season Open House since the pandemic!

Show up extra early to be in the audience for the live taping of Metro Morning, or come down in the afternoon for Here & Now – both held at CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio. Head over to the atrium, where a diverse array of activities catering to all age groups will be available – including CBC Kids, CBC Sports & more!

If you can, please bring a non-perishable food item.

Metro Morning:

5:30 am – 8:30 am

Kick off the day with host David Common and the team featuring performances by Adria Kain, Luna Elle and Born Ruffians with appearances from some of your favourite CBC personalities. Front Street doors open at 4:30 a.m. Glenn Gould doors open at 5:00 am

Meet and Greet with CBC Talent

8:45 am – 9:15 am

Stop by and meet some of your favourite Metro Morning personalities, including David Common, Marcia Young, Scott Regehr and Jill Dempsey.

CBC Sports

9:15 am – 9:45 am

Join CBC Sports host Devin Heroux for an in-depth conversation looking ahead to Paris 2024.

The Current

10:00 am – 10:30 am

Join The Current’s Matt Galloway for a special recording of the show, featuring a live interview with Rick Mercer.

CBC Kids Live On Stage

11:00 am – 12:00 pm

CBC Kids kicks off a series of stage shows starting at 11:00 a.m. with CBC Kids Book Club Live starring Janaye & Gary the Unicorn. Next up is a fun sing-along with Jeremy and Jazzy, followed by a special CBC Kids Holiday Talent Show starring Janaye and Tony, Gary the Unicorn, Cottonball, Mosey, Mr. Orlando, Peppa Pig, plus special guests!

Atrium Show Continues

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Come by for a special appearance by The Nature of Things host Anthony Morgan. CBC Radio’s The Debaters, Steve Patterson will perform some comedy and show off some of his musical talents! Stars from CBC TV’s Bollywed will have a one-of-a-kind fashion show.

Commotion

1:30 pm – 2:00 pm

Come join CBC Radio’s Commotion host Elamin Abdelmahmoud for a special show looking at 2023’s Winners and Losers in Arts & Pop Culture, featuring Kathleen Newman-Bremang, Amil Niazi and Matt Hart.

Meet and Greet with CBC Stars

2:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Stop by and meet some of your favourite CBC TV and CBC Radio One talent, including CBC Toronto News at Six’s Dwight Drumond, Fresh Air’s Ismaila Alfa, Steve Patterson from The Debaters, Commotion’s Elamin Abdelmahmoud, Kevin Carrington, Natalie Kalata, and more.

Chris Glover hosts Here and Now live from Glenn Gould Studio. Join us to see performances by Charlotte Cornfield, Aysanabee and DijahSB. And there will be a feature performance from the cast of SIX The Musical.

All Day Activities

9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Get ready for a morning of holiday magic, fun, and laughter with your favourite CBC Kids friends! Available from 9:00 a.m., kids can participate in the ‘Be on TV’ activity, and create a beautiful snow globe paper craft. Throughout the morning, drop by the CBC Kids studio for meet & greets with CBC Kids pals including Tony and Janaye, Gary the Unicorn, Jeremy and Jazzy, and Peppa Pig!

Plus, visit our giant snow globe activation and have your photo taken to commemorate the event.
