Getting by with the help of our friends at the Toronto Professional Fire Fighter’s Association

For over two decades the Toronto Professional Firefighters’ Association (TPFFA) has played an integral role in Daily Bread Food Bank’s community food raising and distribution efforts. Members have generously volunteered their time and skills to a degree that extends far beyond their call of duty. This past year, as we were faced with challenges posed by COVID-19, firefighters from across the city immediately stepped up to support.

Whether as volunteer drivers picking-up and dropping-off food donations, helping us kick-off our food and fundraising campaigns or helping to unload donations at our drive-thru events, Toronto firefighters are always there to lend a hand and uplift our communities. “Toronto firefighters have been supporting Daily Bread for many years,” says Dan Vieira, Executive Officer, TPFFA. “We understand that due to COVID-19 the need has never been greater, and we will continue to help in any way we can.”

Fire stations across the city offer friendly and convenient drop-off points for those looking to donate non-perishable food donations. In the last 12 months, over 317,000 lbs of food have been collected from fire stations in Toronto.

We are deeply grateful to every TPFFA member for their commitment to the fight against hunger.
