What is a Public Food Sort?
During special holidays, Daily Bread Food Bank hosts public food sorting weekend events. Volunteers from around the GTA support the community by coming to our distribution center at 191 New Toronto Street in Etobicoke to sort and pack food donations to be distributed to our member agency network. We host three Public Food Sort events each year:
- Spring
- Thanksgiving
- Winter Holidays
Whether you are looking for a volunteer activity to participate in as a family, friends or on your own, you can make make a Daily Bread Public Food Sort part of your holiday tradition.
Our Production Hall is part of an active warehouse environment, please note the following for your safety:
- The minimum age to participate is 11 years old.
- All participants are required to wear close-toed, non-slip shoes. (Running shoes are ideal!)
- Everyone who volunteers for this event must agree to the volunteer waiver when they sign up.
