Volunteer School, student volunteers and Groups with special needs

We love having students spend the day with us!

Nearly 1,500 students volunteer at Daily Bread every year and we couldn’t get food to thousands of Torontonians in need without your help.

Teachers can book their school students for a Tuesday or Thursday morning (10 a.m. to noon). Daily Bread shifts are open to middle school to high school (grades 6 to 12), with a ratio of one adult for every eight students and a maximum of 40 students.

Here’s what student volunteers do:

Food sorting

Categorizing and boxing non-perishable food donations

Produce and bulk food packing

Sorting and bagging farm-fresh produce, and bulk food like beans and rice
