CEO Neil Hetherington Among Toronto Life's 50 Most Influential Torontonians

December 8, 2022

We are honoured to announce that our CEO, Neil Hetherington, was named one of Toronto Life Magazine’s 50 Most Influential Torontonians of 2022

“This is a humbling acknowledgement I accept on behalf of the dedicated team at Daily Bread Food Bank,” says Neil. “Our volunteers, staff and network of member agencies work tirelessly to ensure that together, we continue to meet the rising need for food in our city, despite the challenges. I am grateful to, and inspired by, each of them. This recognition is for all of us.”

The announcement is bittersweet — while we’re extremely proud of Neil, we know he was recognized because sky-high grocery prices and still-low incomes are driving record numbers of Torontonians to our network of food programs.

We must continue to get food out now to the growing numbers who need it, and at the same time lobby politicians to enact poverty-eliminating policies so that Daily Bread isn’t needed in the future.
